Little brown cat

All over the country there are feral cats that roam around and settle in barns, stables, warehouse districts and other areas where they can survive. These little partly social creatures are known as "working cats" and their presence makes for a very effective pest control. Most particularly they keep the rodent population from exploding to infestation levels, hence the old maxim, "while the cat's away the mice will play."

Fortunately, many recognize their vital role in the community and independent and organized groups seek them out to make sure they have food and veterinary care.

One such group is a 501(c)(3) charity by the name of Changing Tomorrow Animal Rescue, located in South Florida. They have many programs designed to address and deal with an overpopulated feral cat community including a TNR, trap, neuter and return, a Community Medicine Chest and transportation program providing rescue cats with forever homes up north.

Their Community Medicine Chest distributes vaccines, antibiotics, anti fungals, flea preventatives and dewormers free of charge to all the volunteers who step up to help the cats and kittens living wild, helping them to avoid costly veterinary bills as they perform their life saving acts of rescue.
